The following projects are a brief summary of Bridge engineering experience of CTS and associated companies:

BRIDGE LOAD RATING, OREGON
Bridge load rating was provided for Oregon Department of Transportation as part of “On-Call Bridge Rating Services” contract during the 1998 fiscal year. The load rating involved seven pre-cast pre-stressed concrete bridges located within the Bridge Inspection Area 9604. The rating was done in accordance with “Guidelines for Calculations of the ODOT Bridge Section Load Rating Procedures” using BRASS structural analysis software.

BEACON ROCK DAY USE AREA BRIDGE ACCESS, SKAMANIA COUNTY WASHINGTON
Design of a skewed 2-lane bridge with a separated bike lane over Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad at Beacon Rock State Park, Washington, as part of a newly created SR-14 Highway access. The entire bridge is a three span, 190 feet long with the superstructure consisting of pre-cast pre-stressed concrete girders, concrete decking and aesthetic features to comply with Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area Guidelines. Estimated Construction Cost: $1,600,000

NORTH MARINE DRIVE BRIDGE – PORTLAND, OREGON
Design of a 4-lane, pre-stressed concrete bridge for the North Marine Drive road crossing the Burlington Northern Railroad west of Interstate 5. The bridge is skewed with sidewalks along each edge. The bridge spans are 96′-0″, 110′-10″ and 96′-0″. Due to the close proximity of the Columbia River, steel pipe piles at each abutment and at both intermediate piers support the bridge. Construction Cost: $14,000,000.

“ON-CALL” SERVICES, OREGON
Bridge design and other engineering services were provided as a sub-consultant on the Oregon DOT “On-Call” Bridge Design Services contract. The work orders to date included two tasks. One task involved services during construction for the Mosier Twin Tunnel project located on Historic Columbia River Highway. The other task consisted of designing a railroad bridge wetland crossing which was part of the Columbia Slough Inter-modal Expansion Bridge project.

SALMON CREEK BRIDGE 503/6 REPLACEMENT – BATTLE GROUND, WASHINGTON
Bridge design and other engineering services were provided as a sub-consultant on the Oregon DOT “On-Call” Bridge Design Services contract. The work orders to date included two tasks. One task involved services during construction for the Mosier Twin Tunnel project located on Historic Columbia River Highway. The other task consisted of designing a railroad bridge wetland crossing which was part of the Columbia Slough Inter-modal Expansion Bridge project.

PIERCE COUNTY LINE TO TUKWILA HOV LANE BRIDGE WIDENING – SR 5., WASHINGTON
Design of the widening of 5 existing bridges to accommodate the proposed HOV lane along southbound SR 5. This work was performed as a part of “On Call Bridge Design Services” for the Washington State DOT. The bridge types included medium length, 3-span, pre-stressed, pre-cast, concrete girder and concrete girder bridges. Seismic retrofitting of the existing portion of the bridge was also performed. Construction Cost: $1,700,000.

WENATCHEE RIVER BRIDGE 2/219 REPLACEMENT – LEAVENWORTH, WASHINGTON
Design of a 4-lane highway bridge over the Wenatchee River in Leavenworth, Washington as a replacement for the existing concrete arch bridge. The design involved two stages of construction because of the existing structure, steep embankments with difficult access, two tall intermediate piers due to a deep canyon, and one of the longest middle spans (140 feet) for pre-cast pre-stressed concrete girder. In order to enhance the urban appearance of the bridge structure, each side of the bridge has a special ornamental railing. Construction Cost: $2,500,000.
