Beacon Rock State Park Bridge, Skamania Co., WA

Beacon Rock State Park BridgeCTS provided Plans, Specifications and Estimate for Washington State Parks and Recreation Com-mission new access road to Beacon Rock State Park. The purpose of this project was to eliminate the existing at-grade railroad crossing. Due to tight space constraints the layout of the road required careful planning and coordination with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and adjacent land-owners.

The crossing of the railroad was accomplished by using standard WSDOT prestressed precast W50G girders in a 3-span configuration of 40’-0”, 92’-6” and 40’-0”. The bridge was designed to accommodate 2-lane roadway with 6’-0” sidewalk on one side. Special stone veneer cladding of the piers gave the bridge rustic appearance fitting for rugged terrain in the vicinity.
